Tindeuchen Lodge #522

Eligibility
Per the Lodge bylaws, Tindeuchen's election cycle runs from January 5th to May 30th every year. Unit leaders will receive an email at the start of the election season inviting them to schedule a visit from the Lodge's election team. Reminder emails will follow approximately every three weeks until the unit either schedules an election or notifies the Lodge that they do not wish to have an election during this cycle. National policy prohibits units from conducting their own elections. The Lodge is prohibited from recognizing anyone selected via an improperly conducted election. Units are encouraged to schedule their elections as early as possible as the calendar becomes very congested near the end of the cycle. Election teams are typically available to conduct elections at district camping events(Klondike Derby, Winter Weekend Spring Camporee, etc.) if this is more convenient for the units.

Order of the Arrow membership requirements are as follows:
-
Be a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America.
-
Have experienced 15 nights of camping while registered with a troop, crew, or ship within the two years immediately prior to the election. The 15 nights must include one, but no more than one, long-term camp consisting of at least five consecutive nights of overnight camping, approved and under the auspices and standards of the Boy Scouts of America. Only five nights of the long-term camp may be credited toward the 15-night camping requirement; the balance of the camping (10 nights) must be overnight, weekend, or other short-term camps of, at most, three nights each. Ship nights may be counted as camping for Sea Scouts.
-
At the time of their election, youth must be under the age of 21, hold the Scouts BSA First Class rank, the Venturing Discovery Award, or the Sea Scout Ordinary rank or higher, and following approval by the Scoutmaster, Crew Advisor or Sea Scout Skipper, be elected by the youth members of their unit.

Adults (age 21 or older) who meet the camping requirements may be selected following nomination to and approval by the lodge adult selection committee and the Council Scout Executive. Adult selection is based on their ability to perform the necessary functions to help the Order fulfill its purpose, and is not for recognition of service, including current or prior positions. Selected adults must be an asset to the Order because of demonstrated abilities, and must provide a positive example for the growth and development of the youth members of the lodge.

A link to the electronic Adult Nomination Form will be included in the Election Results Summary emailed to unit leaders after their unit election has been completed. The electronic nomination form is the only method for submitting adult candidates.
